Welcome to MN Northern Sled Hockey!

Minnesota Northern Sled Hockey welcomes you to their website. The Minnesota Northern Sled Hockey team is based in Richfield, Minnesota, and is a part of the MN Sled Hockey Association. We are proudly a part of the Midwest Sled Hockey League, and the Minnesota Disabled Hockey chapter of USA Hockey.

The Minnesota Northern sled team began play in the 2006/07 season, and are proud winners of the 2009 USA Hockey Disabled Festival Division B National Title, held in Buffalo, NY. The Northern were proud to host the 7th Annual USA Hockey Disabled Festival, and are pleased with the first place trophy from their division at the national tournament. To top off a proud season, the Northern demonstrated sled hockey versus members of the USA Paralympic Sled Hockey team at the Frozen Four, held at the Xcel Arena in St. Paul. Experience the excitement on our YouTube channel.

We welcome all interested players, regardless of ability, and recommend contacting us to see if sled hockey is right for you. Not sure what sled hockey is all about? Click here and we’ll get you up to speed and ready for the ice. Midwest League play is between December and March, with regular practices starting in November, and “captains’ practices” available in the off-season. We have regular practice at the Richfield Ice Arena, and have sleds and sticks available for trial use. The 2012 USA Hockey Disabled Festival is held in Dallas, Texas on April 13-15, 2012.

We’re proud to be from The State of Hockey, and welcome all to experience our passion!
